About the Project
This project is a non-commercial initiative where I set up an Ubuntu server on AWS Cloud. On this server, I deployed a website using Docker and Docker Compose, with Nginx as the web server and WordPress as the CMS. The site has its own domain name and an SSL certificate to ensure secure communication. I designed and developed the website myself, and I regularly monitor the server’s performance using Prometheus and Grafana to keep everything running smoothly.
As part of the deployment, I implemented automated backups and system updates to ensure that the server and website remain secure and up-to-date without manual intervention. I also use tools like Security Groups and UFW to enhance the server’s security, minimizing the risk of potential attacks.
Prometheus and Grafana are used for resource monitoring, offering detailed insights into server performance and application metrics, which help improve the website’s reliability and performance.
Furthermore, I’m excited to explore the concept of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. By managing and automating the deployment of cloud resources, I can make the infrastructure scalable, reproducible, and easier to manage. This will also allow me to implement more robust disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity even in the event of an outage.
By working on this project, I am gaining hands-on experience with key DevOps tools and practices and continuously challenging myself to stay updated with the latest industry trends to enhance both the user experience and the infrastructure’s resilience.
About me
I am an enthusiastic and driven IT specialist with a strong technical background. I hold a higher education degree in engineering, and a postgraduate degree in IT technologies and information communications, which has provided me with a solid foundation in IT and telecommunications. Additionally, I have earned my CCNA certification.
Though I do not yet have commercial experience in IT companies, I have gained practical hands-on experience with Linux servers, Docker, Git, and cloud services. I am constantly learning and enhancing my skills in these areas. In the past, I worked as a CNC operator, and I spent two years living in Canada, which gave me valuable international experience and improved my language skills.
I am fluent in Ukrainian, very proficient in Polish, and have a decent command of English, which I continue to improve. I am excited to develop further in the IT industry and seek opportunities where I can contribute my skills while continuing to grow and expand my expertise in system administration, DevOps, or network engineering.
